Policeman dead after falling from Palamu Express

Daltonganj: A jawan of the state police who was posted in Hirapur police station of the Dhanbad district today lost his life after falling from the Palamu Express at the Daltonganj Railway Station here. The deceased has been identified as Sakaldeo Ram a resident of Kadal under Mohammendganj Police Station area of Palamu.

Police said that while trying to board a passenger train early in the morning the policeman lost his footing and fell on the tracks due to which he died. The man was trying to catch the Palamu Express which was on its way to Barkakana when the incident took place. Later the body was sent for post-mortem by the GRP and the family members were informed. After post-mortem, the body of the policeman was brought to police lines where SP Inderjeet Mahtha, DSP  Surjeet Kumar and Premnath offered their tributes and later the mortal remains were sent to the ancestral village of the policeman.
