Ranchi Police announces reward of Rs 25,000, releases poster of culprit wanted for attacking video journalist

Ranchi: The efforts of Ranchi Press Club has started showing its results which is going to bring comfort to the journalists sitting on dharna in the club protesting the deadly attack on senior video journalist Baijnath Mahto.

Ranchi Police has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for those who will reveal the address of Akash alias Benga, accused of attacking journalist Baijnath Mahto in the capital Ranchi.  Along with this, the police has also released the poster of Benga.

The criminals had attacked journalist Baijnath Mahto on Saturday night near Tiril Talab located in Sadar police station area of Ranchi.  The journalist is battling for life and death in the hospital.

Ranchi Police has not been able to trace the accused Benga even after three days of the incident after which the police has announced the reward.

Although the personnel from Sadar police station questioned Benga's father, but the father did not provide much information. He told the police that he had left his house several days ago and was living in another place.

The journalists of Ranchi are furious due to the non-arrest of the accused are sitting on dharna in Ranchi Press Club.
