Tana Bhagats will be made self reliant: Chief Secretary

Ranchi: Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi chaired the meeting of Tana Bhagat Development Authority during which he said that the
state government wanted to make them self reliant so that they can stand on their feet and also announced that all their lands would be cess free for which necessary changes have been made in online cess depositing system. He also directed that leftover families and their population should be put into the record. 

Mr Tripathi said that after solving their long pending land related issue the state government was now focussed on their education health water power and other basic amenities of life. In the meeting,  he also directed that on the issues related to land dealings based on hierarchy a camp should be organised to solve their problems. The Tana Bhagats were informed that under PMAY approval has been given to construct three bed homes and for construction of additional room further funds of Rs 70,000 has been sanctioned on other hand funds have also been released to give milk animals and construction of cow shed for 641 Tana Bhagat families and they have been also provided training for cow rearing. In the meeting, the management of Raksha Shakti University was asked to commence the process of providing placement to the students of the Tana Bhagat families who are studying in the varsity.

The Chief Secretary also asked to organise a screening for skills by the skill development mission and in the meeting, it was also agreed that the women from the Tana Bhagats would be taught to operate Charkha for which coordination will be established with Khadi Board. In the meeting, it was also decided to provide them with additional benefits of seeds fertilisers wells ponds etc.
