Opposition rakes up para teachers issues: Cong stages dharna, JVM(P) assures full support

Ranchi: With an eye on the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and subsequent assembly elections in the state the opposition parties are making a beeline to voice their support for the 67,000 para teachers of the state who are on a strike for the last one month in support of their various demands.

The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee on Friday stages dharna across the district headquarters and handed over memorandums to the DCs concerned addressed to Governor in support of the demands of the para teachers. JPCC
spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said that on the directions of state unit chief Dr Ajay Kumar state wide demonstrations were
held. He said that at present the para teachers are staging agitation outside the cabinet minister’s home in which atleast of them
have lost their lives while one is still missing. On the other hand, the Chief Minister was treating these para teachers as criminals
and has described them as goons.

He said that when Congress will form the next government in Jharkhand than at first it would take steps to make them permanent. On the other hand, central spokesperson of the JVM(P) Yogendra Pratap Singh said that his party was with the para teachers. He said that despite half a dozen para teachers losing their lives none of the cabinet ministers of the leaders of the BJP have said anything over the issue. He said that the tenure of the Jharkhand government was short lived and all the problems of the para teachers would be solved after that.
