Congress to organise state wide demonstrations in support of para teachers on Friday

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to organise state wide demonstrations in support of the demands of the para teachers. Addressing a press conference here JPCC media incharge Rajesh Thakur said that state unit chief Dr Ajay
Kumar has directed all the district unit chiefs to organise dharna in district headquarters on Friday and has also asked the presidents
of block and district units to extend all possible cooperation and support to the para teachers in their respective areas.

He said that the Congress party supported the demands of the para teachers and their wants would be kept in the manifesto of the party and in when 2019 the Congress will form government in the state than on the likes of MP and Chhattisgarh where the loan wavier for the farmers was announced within 10 days similarly the demands of the para teachers would be fulfilled within 10 days in Jharkhand. He said that by waving off the farm loans the Congress party has showed that it does what it says and does not believes in saying ‘jhumlas’ only.

Mr Thakur said that it was indeed unfortunate that 67,000 para teachers who are on strike in support of their various demands and are responsible for education in the rural areas are not even getting the minimum wages. He accused the BJP ministers and their MPs of misleading the para teachers instead of ensuring that they get their dues.
