JVM(P) once again demands for complete liquor ban in state

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Prajatantrik once again demanded that a complete ban on liquor be imposed in the state. Party’s central spokesperson Yogendra Pratap Singh said that once again the state government has decided to assign private parties
the task of liquor selling in the state and said no matter who runs the liquor shops whether it is the state government or the private parties the decision to sell liquor in the state is itself wrong.

He said that when the state government had decided to run the liquor shop itself it had expected to earn a profit of Rs 120 crore but instead things went in the opposite direction. He demanded that on the likes of Bihar a complete ban on liquor should be imposed in the state and pointed that when the Bihar government can fulfil the loss caused by liquor sale from other sources why cannot the Jharkhand government do the same thing. Mr Singh said that his party has been in the favour of the liquor ban in Jharkhand since the beginning and once again is repeating its demand for liquor ban.
