Rs 14 lakh recovered from house of cyber criminal in Jamtara

Jamtara: In a major success for the district police in its battle against Coronavirus more than Rs 14 lakh was recovered from the house of a cyber criminal located in Pindari village under the Karmatand Police Station area of this district.

For the Jamtara Police, this was a record in recovery. Apart from that from the home of the cyber criminal 8 mobile phones, 18 sim cards, 4 passbooks and 4 ATM cards have been recovered.

Dumka DIG Sudarshan Mandal said that a team of Rajasthan Police had alerted the local police station regarding a cyber criminal Kalim Ansari who had duped Rs 95,000 from the account of a person hailing from that state.

After receiving information a team of Jamtara Police conducted raids at the house of one Kalim Ansari at Pindari village. However, Ansari managed to flee but police managed to catch one Vikash Mandal who had helped Ansari to escape.

The DIG said that during a search at the homes Rs 14,03,900 was recovered along with other items. He said that raids were on to nab the culprit.
