AJSU party to organise state level OBC meet on Dec 17

Ranchi : Under the aegis of Akhil Jharkhand Pichada Varg Mahasabha the AJSU party will be organising a state level meeting on December 17 demanding 27 per cent reservation for the OBC’s in the government jobs and admissions in the state. The party is off the view that due to not providing 27 percent reservation to the OBCs in the government jobs a large section of the people on social economical and educational point of view while in the other states the OBC have been given reservation as per their population.

The party said that in the days of the unified Bihar the reservation for the OBCs was 26 percent which has been now reduced to 14 after creation of the Jharkhand despite OBCs making more than 50 percent of the population of the state. On the other hand in Bihar
the reservation for the OBCs was increased to 33 while in other states including Andhra Pradesh Telangana Assam Gujarat Haryana Karnataka Kerala Tamilnadu the OBCs have either 27 percent of the population or more than that.

On the other hand the party has also advocated that to give 27 percent reservation to the OBCs the reservation of any other community should not be curtailed. AJSU said that the state OBC commission has already recommended to the personnel department that OBC reservation in the state should be taken to 27 percent.
