Two employees of land conservation department caught taking bribe by ACB in Giridih

Giridih: Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau have arrested two employees of land conservation department while they were accepting a bribe worth Rs 60,000 from Barganda under Town Police Station area of this district. The arrested have been
identified as supervisor Rakesh Pascal and clerk, Rakesh Kumar, who both were posted in the land conservation department. A complaint against the duo was registered by a contractor hailing from Dumri Ashok Kumar. The man in his complaint before
the Dhanbad Bureau of the ACB had said that he was pressurized for a bribe by these men for clearing his pending payment in lieu of
a pond construction project which was executed by the contractor.

The arrested had demanded a bribe of Rs 1.67 lakh which Ashok agreed to pay in two installments. As per the deal, he was going
to give the first installment of Rs 60,000 when ACB arrested the duo. Later the ACB team also conducted a search in the room from
where these men were arrested from that spot Rs 8 lakh in cash was recovered.
