CBI court rejects bail plea of former cabinet minister Bandhu Tirkey

Ranchi: A special CBI court rejected the bail petition of former cabinet minister and JVM(P) leader Bandhu Tirkey in a disproportionate asset case. The court of special CBI judge Anil Kumar Mishra rejected the bail petition of the former minister who was arrested in this case on Wednesday and produced before the court which had forwarded him to judicial custody till December 15. 

Tirkey was arrested from Banhora under Pandra OP. On November 19 the court had issued summon to Mr Tirkey in this case but instead of him his lawyer had appeared before the court. Bandhu Tirkey had served as the HRD minister in the Madhu Koda government of the state and was elected twice to the Jharkhand Assembly from the Mandar seat however he was defeated in the assembly polls of 2014.
