Simdega: Police has arrested eight criminals who were wanted in connection with murder of a para teacher which had taken place under Kurdeg Police Station area of this district on April 15.
Briefing the press on Tuesday Simdega SP Dr Samsh Tabrez said on the night of April 15 para teacher Xavier Lakra was shot dead in Bhalmanda village as he had not paid an extortion worth Rs 5 lakh which the criminals had demanded from him.
He said that post the incident a team under DSP Headquarters Patras Biruwa was constituted which in the due course of the investigation arrested these 8 criminals out of which three are from Odisha.
The arrested have been identified as Kunal Kujur alias Kannu, Sudhir Kujur and Rohit Kispotta are from Odisha while Dilwar Pradhan alias Pandey, Hemant Kujur, Rupesh Pradhan, Dubraj Lakra and Sandeep Karketta are from separate areas of Simdega district.
From the arrested four desi kattas, 9 cartridges, 3 motorcycles, 7 mobiles, two bag packs, ATM Cards, Pan Cards and other items have been recovered.
