JPCC delegation meets Chief Electoral Officer demanding fair polls in Kolibera

Ranchi (By our correspondent): A delegation of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee led by former Union Minister Subodhkant Sahai meet Chief Electoral Officer of the state L Khiyangate demanding a free and fair by-election for the Kolibera seat of the state
assembly. In a letter which was handed over to the election commission, the party said that it has received numerous complaints regarding efforts being made to impact the polls.

The party claimed that former MLA Enos Ekka who is lodged in jail in connection with the murder of a para teacher was calling up people from the inside the jail and asking them to vote for his wife Menan Ekka who is the candidate of the Jharkhand party. Mr. Sahai said that it was a very serious issue and demanded a high-level probe into the incident and action as per law should be taken against such people who are cooperating the jailed leader in this act. 

He demanded that in-order to ensure free and fair polls Mr. Ekka should be transferred to some other jail located out of Jharkhand. Those present on the occasion also included JPCC media incharge Rajesh Thakur, spokespersons Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, Alok Dubey and alias Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo.
