Jharkhand Assembly pays tributes to former Guv M Rama Jois and others

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Assembly on Friday paid its tributes to former Jharkhand Governor M Rama Jois, football legend Diego Maradona and other key personalities hailing from different walks of life who have passed away between the two sessions.

On the inaugural day of the Budget Session of Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindranath Mahto paid his tributes to former Jharkhand Governor M Rama Jois, former MP Rajkishore Mahto, former minister Aklu Ram Mahto, senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel, artist Saumitra Chatterjee etc.

Among those who were also remembered by the house included former Goa Governor Mridula Sinha, former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, senior Congress leader Motilal Vora, former Union Minister Buta Singh, former Gujarat Chief Minister Madhav Singh Solanki, former Union Minister Captain Satish Sharma, former Arunachal Pradesh Governor Mata Prasad.

The house remembered various literary figures, artists, authors and renowned sportsmen who passed during the period. Further people who were killed as a ceiling collapsed in a cremation ground in Gaziabad, people who lost their lives in Chamoli disaster and members of a tribal family who were killed in Gumla.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Congress legislature wing leader Aalamgir Aalam, Cabinet Minister Satyanand Bhokta and other leaders from different parties also paid their tributes. Later a two minutes of silence was also observed as part of respect towards the departed souls after which the Speaker adjourned the house till 1100hrs on Monday.
