Khunti: Officer incharge of woman police station was on Thursday caught taking a bribe of Rs 15,000 by the sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau.
The arrested has been identified as Meera Singh. She was taking the bribe from a woman for not registering a case against her son.
A complaint against her was lodged by Nagi Horro of Bagdu village. She in her complaint had pointed that on February 12 the police officer had called her at the police station and had informed that a girl had filed a rape complaint against her son who is in the army.
The police officer had demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 so that a case could not be registered against her son but later the deal was fixed at Rs 15,000. As Nagi Horro did not wanted to pay the bribe she informed the ACB.
Post the verification of the complaint ACB laid a trap and arrested the police officer as soon as money exchanged hands.
