Three including mother and daughter charred to death in Giridih

Giridih: Three including a woman and her daughter were charred to death while they were sleeping their farm located at Salaiyadih village under Birni Police Station area of this district.

Though the reasons of the fire is not cleared it is being suspected that the paddy husk might have caught fire and spread across the field as a result of which all of them died.

The deceased have been identified as Mudrika Devi (55), her daughter Gudia Kumari (14) and Jhulia Kumari (7) who was the grand daughter of Mudrika Devi.

Upon receiving information a police team reached on the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. Sitaram Yadav, son of the deceased said that daily the three of them use to sleep in the farm which is located some distance away from their home.

Police quoting neighbours said that in the wee hours of the day they saw fire in the farm and raised an alarm. Using local means they doused the flames however by that time the trio had died. Family members said that to keep themselves warm every day they use to burn firewood in the farm and it appears that fire had spread from the same.
