Drunkard son kills mother in Chaibasa, later prepares chicken on her pyre

Chaibasa: In a gruesome incident a drunkard son killed her mother in Jojogutu village under Manoharpur Police Station area of the West Singhbhum district.

The incident had taken place on Friday night itself. After killing his mother the culprit son lit her pyre in the courtyard of the house and even prepared chicken on the pyre and consumed. After villagers got to know about the incident they tied his hands and legs and on Saturday handed him over to the police.

Police quoting villagers said that the culprit Pawan Soy alias Pradhan Soy (35) had 9 years ago had killed his son and on January 13 he had come out of jail and lived with his mother Sumi Sou (60) in the village.

Relatives of the deceased woman said that the entire family was scared of the acts of the culprit as he always remained under the influence of liqour. On Friday night also his mother had stopped her son from consuming the liqour which made him angry and beat his mother to death.
