National Voters Day: Guv felicitates three DCs

Ranchi: On the occasion of the National Voters Day Governor Draupadi Murmu felicitated the DCs of three districts got their work.

In a function which was held at the Aryabhaat Auditorium of Ranchi University the Governor felicitated Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan, Simdega DC Sushant Gourav and West Singhbhum DC Arwa Rajkamal for their work in the area of voter list revision. Further she also felicitated former hockey player Ashunta Lakra, Padamshri Mukund Nayak and artist Ajay Malkani for their role in creating voter awareness. Senior voters were also felicitated during the function.

Speaking during the function the Governor said that democracy is based on the people and it is the right to vote which gives the power to the people. She said that awareness towards elections is the base of a strong Republic.

The Governor called upon the people to remain away from the aspects of caste, religion, language and community and cast their votes after listening to their inner voice. She also called upon the young voters who have yet not registered their names in the voter list to do the same.
