CPI announces support for Congress in Kolibera by-polls

Ranchi: The CPI has announced its support for Congress party nominee Vixcel Kondagi for the by-polls to the Kolibera seat of the Jharkhand Assembly. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting state working committee of the party. The party leaders said that as far as Menan Ekka was concerned her husband was sentenced on the charges of murder of a para teacher while there are
several other corruption charges on him therefore in such circumstances it was not possible to support him.

The party said that to defeat the communal forces it has been decided to support the Congress candidate. Earlier in the meeting, the party decided to support the agitation of the para teachers. The party said that it was due to the arrogance of the state government that locks were outside many schools and the party demanded that the state government without any delay should hold dialogue with the leaders of para teachers and solve the issue.
