Ranchi: Police resorted to lathi-charge as supporters of ABVP and Adivasi Chatra Sangh clashed with each other after the results of the students union election of the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University were announced. Police said that after the declaration of the results the supporters of ACS were putting their flag on the university gates which was objected by the members of the ANVP.
Later ABVP members started putting their flag during which someone threw stone as a result of which both the groups clashed
with one another. To separate the warring student fractions police resorted to lathicharge. In the elections to the five posts of the
student union of the DSPMU three were won by candidates of ACS while ABVP and JCM managed to win one each.
