Two including wife of TSPC commander arrested with levy in Latehar

Latehar: Police has arrested two operatives including a woman belonging to the Trtitya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) along with levy and other documents.

The arrested woman has been identified as Priyanka Devi alias Sushma Devi who is the wife of TSPC commander Rakesh Ganjhu. She was nabbed with another ultra Kamlesh Yadav. From the arrested a sum of Rs 24,300 collected as levy, bank passbook, ATM card, naxal literature, notebook, branded watch and Nepali Currency has been seized.

SDPO Virendra Ram on Saturday said that Latehar SP Prashant Anand had received a tip off that Ganjhu had sent his wife along with an associate to collect levy from traders and contractors at Chatnahi chowk of Latehar following which a team under Latehar Inspector Amit Kumar Gupta conducted raids and arrested the duo.

The police officer said that the woman since 2004 had been working for various maoist splinter groups and had also served prison terms on three previous occasions.
