Mud Festival to be organised in Feb-March in Dumka: Chief Minister

Dumka (By our correspondent): Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das announced that a mud house would be built in Dumka for
which a sum of Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 crore would be sanctioned from the CSR funds and would consist of a complex having a residential facility, conference hall and cafeteria etc which would be all made of mud.

Reviewing the progress in the execution of the development schemes being executed in this district at Massanjore here he said that the house should be built as per the international standards so that more tourists can visit the place and can enjoy the rural habitat. He also directed that a proposal should be sent so that Massanjore Boat Club Tourist Complex can be made of international standard and said that lighting  arrangements should be such so that it gives a grand view in the night also.

Mr Das also asked to do proper branding of the area and create awareness among the people so that more and more tourists can visit Massanjore. He instructed to ensure that cleanliness is maintained at the complex and said that it should be operated in a professional manner. The Chief Minister also asked the authorities to undertake construction of Birsa Aawas and Ambedkar Aawas on Mission Mode. He said that the construction of the 900 Birsa Aawas which was being made in this district should be completed on a mission mode along with quality work by February and suggested that for this responsibility can be also handed over to the Sakhi  Mandals who would be also provided an incentive of Rs 1,000 for per house constructed under the scheme.

He said that 1700 Ambedkar Aawas which would be distributed among the widows and said that work should be done with sensitivity for providing pension and homes to the widow. Adding further the Chief Minister said that in the villages of the primitive tribes that drinking water facility should be provided in the next four months and asked to make sure that in PMAY and other government schemes the middlemen are removed and assured that funds will not be an issue for any work related to the people.

Mr. Das said that manufacturing of the Basuki Agarbatti (incense sticks) should be done in a professional manner and its production should be increased so that the income of the women involved is increased. He said that in Dumka every year 11 crore Cocoon are produced for Mayurakshi Silk and to make a Cocoon bank Industries Secretary would be soon visiting the area and would submit a proposal. He asked the DC to commence all preparations so that the cabinet meeting in held in Massanjore on December 11.
