Gumla: Police have arrested five ultras belonging to Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) from Helta village under Vishunpur Police Station area of this district.
Briefing the press on Saturday Gumla SP HP Janardhanan said that four other ultras managed to flee from the spot. He said that as soon as the ultras saw the policemen they hurled two bombs but the policemen managed to save themselves and arrested five of them.
From the arrested a rifle, a double barrel gun, a country made pistol, an air gun, 11 live cartridges and detonators have been recovered.
The arrested have been identified as Prabhat Munda alias Rakesh, Amitr Oraon alias Amit Bhagat, Inder Kumar Gope, Dilip Oraon and Rahul Mahli. The SP said that a tip off had been received that the group of ultras had gathered in the village to collect levy from small traders and contractors after which a raid was conducted and they were arrested.
