JMM to contest West Bengal Assembly elections with full strength says Hemant

Dumka: The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has decided to contest the Assembly Elections in the neighbouring state of West Bengal scheduled to be held next year with with full strength.

Acting president of JMM  and Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday said that his party will not only field its candidates on the seats but will contest the polls with full strength. He said that a team of party leaders has gone to West Bengal and is visiting several areas and after returning back will submit its report and on that basis future strategy will be worked out.

He said that before the creation of Jharkhand the party has remained vocal over the issue of Vrihat Jharkhand which should be formed comprising some of the bordering districts of West Bengal and Odisha and in the Bengal polls party will make it a big issue.

Talking to the media at his Khijuria residence before leaving for Tarapeeth he said that JMM was serious over the assembly elections in West Bengal. He said that JMM has been always vocal for Vrihat Jharkhand which also features on priorities list of the party.

On a query over the number of seats which the party wants to contest he said that it has not been fixed and any call on that would be taken after going through the report of the team. He said that there is no talks of coalition right now but the party may hold talks with like minded outfits.

The Chief Minister did not comment over a complaint filed by a model in Mumbai over which BJP leader Babulal Marandi has sought his resignation. The Chief Minister earlier listened to the problems of the people and directed the officials present to take necessary steps to solve them.
