Kolibera bypolls: Basant of BJP & Vixcel of Congress file nominations

Simdega (By our correspondent): On the last day of the filing of nomination papers for the by-polls to the Kolibera Seat (Reserved ST) of the Jharkhand Assembly Basant Soreng of the BJP and Vixcel Kongadi of the Congress filed their nomination papers. BJP’s Basant Soren accompanied by party’s Simdega MLA Bimla Pradhan reached the collectorate here and filed his nomination papers in two sets.

Later speaking with the press he said that he comes from the tribal community and in Kolibera assembly area there was a large number of ‘Khadiya’ tribal community. Apart from them, there are also other tribal communities in the area who are supporting his candidature and exuded confidence that BJP would write a history by winning the elections from here. On the other hand, senior Congress  leaders included in charge for party Affairs in Jharkhand and former Union Minister RPN Singh, JPCC chief Ajay
Kumar and MP Dhiraj Sahu were present in Simdega for the nomination of their party candidate.

After filing his nomination papers the Congress candidate said that he was not fighting against any party but assured for his victory as he has always worked for the Jal Junglee and Zameen of Kolibera. The by-polls to the Kolibera seats is likely to witness a three-way contest as the Jharkhand party nominee Menan Ekka has already filed her nominations for the by-polls to the Kolibera seat of the state assembly voting for which is scheduled on December 20.
