Uproar in Orchid Hospital as dead man’s family slapped heavy bill

Ranchi (By our correspondent): Family members of a deceased created an uproar at the Orchid hospital after the hospital slapped them with a heavy bill of Rs 74,000 post the death of the patient. The deceased Mohammed Jubair Khan a resident of Millat Colony of Pathalkudwa was on Friday night admitted at the hospital after he complained of breathing difficulties and passed away around midnight. When on Saturday morning the family went to collect the body the hospital gave them a bill of Rs 74,000 over which they
became angry and created an uproar.

The family alleged that without informing them the hospital claims to have given the patient an injection worth Rs 48,000. They sought to know as to why the family was not consulted before giving such a costly injection and moreover they said that the man had passed away immediately after administering the injection but the family was informed later. Upon receiving information a team of the Lalpur police reached on the spot and sorted out the situation after which the body was given to the family.
