Guv says suspicious death of doctor over financial stress is insensitive

Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu said that the suspicious death of doctor Vijay Krishna Srivastav over the financial crisis was a reflection of insensitivity and asked the health department to be more careful towards such incidents.

The Governor said that nonpayment of salary to any employee on time was not justified. In the present situation when the country was with the Corona warriors and people were also expressing their gratitude towards them therefore in such a scenario death of a doctor due to the financial crisis was highly insensitive. The governor made these comments during a meeting with Health Secretary Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni who had visited her at the Raj Bhawan.

During the meeting, she also collected information regarding the present healthcare scenario of the state. She said that many people are living under the impression that Coronavirus has ended which has also spread in Jharkhand despite the fact that thousands of people are on a daily basis are being infected by the disease.

She said that it was really unfortunate that people were not using masks and were also not maintaining social distancing. She said that people needed to understand that unless a medicine or vaccine is developed things will not be normal. The Governor asked the people to spread further awareness in this regard.
