Making youth skilled and solving complaints of people priority for government: Hemant

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday said that his government was working to make the youth of the state skilled and was taking all possible steps to solve the complaints of the people.

Addressing the people after inaugurating the office of Deoghar Municipal Corporation and laying the foundation of the Deoghar Urban water supply scheme he said that Deoghar was the cultural capital of the state therefore it has been decided that the partial water supply scheme running across 36 wards of the Deoghar Municipal Corporation is being turned into a large scale water supply scheme.  He said that his government has decided to provide clean drinking water in every village by the year 2022.

The Chief Minister said due to lack of employment opportunities and problems for daily wage earners the Mukhyamantri Shramik Yojana has been started. He said that the state government to a certain extent has managed to address the concerns of the people related to work in rural areas. He said that the state government has been able to create crores of man-days in rural areas whereas the Mukhyamantri Shramik Yojana has been started to benefit the workers and people living below the poverty line in cities.

The Chief Minister said that under the scheme more than 5 lakh families will be benefitted and after a worker files an application he would be provided job within 15 days. He said that the purpose of the scheme was to ensure that no poor or worker face a money crunch in the state. He said that the scheme was being implemented across 51 municipal bodies of the state under which urban poor would be provided 100 days of guaranteed employment. 

He said that the state government was continuously working to ensure relief to workers. He said that the state government has sent Rs 25 crore in the accounts of the workers during the lockdown. The Chief Minister said that it was a matter of satisfaction for the state government that not a single hunger death has taken place during the pandemic in the state. He said that despite the odd circumstances the state government was making to normalise the things and due to the same compulsions the Baba Temple had been closed but now slowly it is being opened up. He said that to help the people during the pandemic they are being provided help under Pradhanmantri Swanidhi Yojana.

The Chief Minister also urged the people to remain alert in wake of the Corona crisis and asked the people to adopt all the necessary precautions including wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing. He also urged the people to regularly wash their hands.

The Chief Minister later also reached at Baba Baidyanath Dham Temple and offered his obeisance. Those who were also present on the occasion included Agriculture Minister Badal, Urban Development Secretary Vinay Kumar Choubey and officials of Deoghar district administration.
