Dumka: A 12 year old girl was gang-raped and murdered under Ramgarh Police Station area of this district.
Police said that the victim a student of class five was a resident of Thadi village. On Friday morning the tribal girl had left her home on a cycle for tuition classes but when she failed to return they went looking for her.
The father of the girl saw her cycle outside the village and soon her body was also recovered from bushes after which police was alerted.
Dumka SP Ambar Lakra said that prima facie it appears that the girl has been gang raped and later she was murdered. He said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. Further probe was on.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren too took cognisance of the crime and instructed DGP to take immediate necessary action and initiate proceedings under the fast track courts.
