Minor girl gang raped by 5 youths in Gumla, all culprits arrested

Gumla: A minor girl who is a student of class fifth was raped by five youths under Chainpur Police Station area of this district following which all the culprits were nabbed by the police.

Police said among the five, three were nabbed on Monday while two others were nabbed on Tuesday. The incident had taken place on Saturday night itself.

Chainpur SDPO Kuldeep Kumar said that after the brother of the victim came to knew about the incident he went looking for the culprits. After he found two of them he tried to cut off their hands and legs after which police were informed and the entire incident came out in the open.

He said that the girl has been sent for medical examination while the two culprits along with the brother of the girl are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police said that the girl was asked by one the culprits to return her music box after which he asked him to accompany her to his friend's place where he had kept it.  Unfortunately, the culprit took him to the jungle where he and four other friends gang-raped her.

The girl on Sunday reached to her parents and narrated the incident after which a panchayat was held in which the family was asked to close the matter but the family remained adamant about filing the case.

The family members said that two culprits had threatened the family if they would have gone to register the case after which the brother attacked the duo and subsequently police was informed.
