Dhanbad: Police seized cash worth Rs 91 lakh from a car on Wednesday on the NH-2 under Barwadda Police Station area of this district.
Later the car driver and two other men were taken into custody for questioning. Upon receiving information Sleuths of the Income Tax department also reached on the spot and has joined the probe.
Police had received a tip-off that a car with a West Bengal number was traveling to Gaya which was carrying a huge amount of cash. Based on the information the car was apprehended during the vehicle checking driver and the cash was recovered.
Police said that a total of Rs 91,35,000 have been recovered from the car.
