CBI DSP reaches Ranchi, probe commences in Bakoria fake encounter

Ranchi (By our correspondent): The CBI has commenced its probe into the fake Bakoria encounter as a team of the investigating
agency led by its DSP KK Singh reached the CID office here and collected initial information in this case from the police officials. The Jharkhand High Court had ordered for a CBI probe into the encounter after which CBI has commenced its proceedings. In the night
of June 8, 2015 a total of 12 people who were branded as Naxals were shot dead in an encounter by the police.

The CID had given a clean chit to the state police in this case however on October 22, 2018 the Jharkhand High Court ordered for a CBI probe in this case after which on November 19 the CBI registered an FIR in the case under various sections of the IPC, Arms Act and Explosive Substance Act. This case is being probed by a special crime branch cell of New Delhi and the team was in Ranchi to collect the necessary documents from the CBI in this case.

The Bakoria encounter has been in news from the day one after suspicion rose that the encounter was fake moreover many senior officials who were supervising the case were also transferred.
