Chief Minister warns officials not to make people run for small things

Ranchi (By our correspondent): Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das chaired the Siddhi Baat Programme at the Suchana Bhawan here during which he warned the officials not to make the people run for small things and said that this kind of attitude will not be
tolerated at any cost. A total of 19 complaints were brought before the Chief Minister during the programme. 

Over a complaint from Birni Police Station area of Giridih district where it was pointed that despite four years of the rape and murder of the girl none of the accused has have been arrested he expressed his anguish over the functioning of the police and ordered for immediate removal of police station officer-in charge of Birni Police Station and also the investigating officer of the case. Mr. Das directed the DIG to conduct a probe into the incident and submit a report within 24 hours. Over another complaint from Ramgarh where it was pointed that despite death of a worker four years ago the death certificate has not bee issued over this he said that it was incorrect to make the people run for smaller things and ordered the Ramgarh DC to make sure that the certificate is issued within three days.

Similarly on the complaint from Latehar where a rape victim pointed that despite warrant issued against the culprit by the court he has not been arrested Mr. Das instructed the Latehar SP to ensure immediate arrest of the accused and also asked to provide a home to the victim under Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana. During the programme he also announced a help of Rs 1 lakh for treatment of a HIV hit person of Saraikela- Kharsawan district. One Basanti Devi of Gumla complained that she had worked at Nagar Parishad office on daily wages but till date has not received her payment and said that after she complained at the Jansamvad Kendra she was transferred to the rock garden as ticket collector where there is no security arrangements and for the last three months she was not given her honorarium. On this the Chief Minister asked the DC to pay her her pending money the next day and immediately shit her to a safe location. He also asked the DC to conduct a probe against the executive officer of the Nagar Parishad and submit a report within three days.

Later the Chief Minister interacted the villagers of Baribandh village of Latehar district through video conferencing and sought to know their problems from the mukhiya and other villagers. During the interaction, the villagers pointed out the issue of mobile network connectivity, lack of roads, school, lack of employment and irrigation facilities in the area. After listening to the complaints of the villagers the Chief Minister instructed the Latehar DC to take necessary steps for the development of the village and also collected information regarding the status of mobile tower installation in the area and overall in the Latehar district. 

Mr. Das said that for the members of the primitive tribes the government has provided two percent reservation in government jobs. He asked the villagers to use the toilets as 80 percent of diseases spread due to going out in the open and asked the villagers to make sure that their children go to school every day and pointed development in true sense can never be realized if a single child goes uneducated.
