Two arrested for theft of Tendu leaves worth Rs 42 lakh in Palamu

Daltonganj: Police has arrested two people who were involved in stealing Tendu leaves worth Rs 42 lakh from a godown located at Chiyanku under Sadar Police Station area of the Palamu SP. Addressing the press SP Inderjeet Mahtha said that on November 20
thieves had stolen 700 gunny bags of tendu leaves from the godown following which a special team was formed to crack the case. He said that the police has managed to arrest two people in this connection including Hardeep Singh Bagga alias Kaku Sardar and Pankaj Kumar Tiwari in this connection.

He said that following the confession of the arrested 650 gunny bags of the leaves have been recovered along with other items. Mr. Mahtha said that about a dozen people were involved in this theft and raids were on to nab them.
