Traffic movement blocked on NH-33 as anti social elements damage statue of Birsa Munda

Ranchi: Angry villagers blocked the traffic movement on the NH-33 at Penki under Kujju OP of this district protesting against the damage made to the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

The villagers said that for the last few weeks some anti-social elements were regularly executing such kinds of incidents. The villagers complained that a month earlier also the statue of Birsa Munda was damaged by the anti-social elements which was repaired by the administration.

This time around the statue has been completely broken. A team from the local police station assured the villagers that the statue would be repaired within 24 hours and also the culprits would be nabbed following which the people called off their agitation.
