DC asks to increase bed count if shortfall in RIMS

Ranchi: Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan chaired a high-level review meeting over the prevailing Coronavirus situation in the capital and asked to increase the number of beds if there is a shortage of beds in RIMS.

In the meeting, he asked the officials to look for new alternatives inside the RIMS to prepare new Covid care centres and also asked to prepare plans to ensure oxygen supply in the wards.

He said that the district administration will provide all kinds of needed support to prepare a new Covid ward for asymptomatic patients. He said that in RIMS plasma therapy has been started for treatment of Coronavirus patients.

The DC said that those patients who have emerged victorious against Coronavirus they should be encouraged to donate plasma and their counselling should be also done so that after 28 days they can themselves turn up for plasma donation.

Talking to the media he also urged the people to come forward for plasma donation. He said that such asymptomatic patients who have been discharged from RIMS or any other hospital within 28 days should come forward for plasma donation at their nearest plasma bank which can help save a life.

The DC earlier asked Civil Surgeon Ranchi to prepare a database of all government hospitals and non-governmental hospitals and organise plasma/blood donation cum health check-up camps so that the health status of the cured patients can be assessed and such patients who are interested from them blood or plasma could be collected.

He also urged the organisations and NGOs which work in the area of blood donation to come forward and asked the Civil Surgeon to hold a meeting with such NGOs and work out a detailed plan.
