Holistic development of industries and agriculture will lead to progress of state and nation: Raghubar

Dumka (By our correspondent): Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that with holistic development of agriculture and industries the progress of society state and nation was possible. Participating in Krishi Samagam organized in Madhuvan village of Jama block he said that agriculture was the axis of the economy and if the economic growth has to be increased than the development of agriculture sector was a must. He said that agriculture horticulture and animal husbandry are part of the sector and said that in the era of globalization development can be only achieved by making the farmers develop. He said that it is the view of the Prime Minister that by 2022 the income of the farmers is doubled.

Mr. Das said that in the year 2013- 14 the growth in agriculture was negative which has now increased to 14.29 percent. He said that it was the result of the hardwok of the farmers that 19 percent growth rate has been registered. Mr. Das said that removing the poverty from this prosperous state was a priority for the state government. He said that there was a huge demand for vegetables of the state and asked the farmers to cultivate vegetables and need not to worry about the market and said that the government will also take efforts to export the vegetables from the state as people from the world should get a taste of vegetables from the state.

Mr. Das said that milk worth Rs 400 crore has to be imported from other states to Jharkhand and suggested the youth to indulge in dairy farming by setting self-help groups and the government will be providing 50 percent subsidy and the youth should become employer than an employee. Mr. Das said that in every home a cow is a must and to establish better contact for e-service the state government will be giving free of cost mobiles to 28 lakh farmers and the work of distribution of mobile would commence from January. He said that to enable the farmers to learn the modern techniques of agriculture they were sent to Israel and now these farmers will teach other farmers. Soon another 1000 farmers will be sent to Israel out of which 50 would be from Santhal Pargana including 25 women.

Mr. Das said that he was happy to note that the women through the self-help groups were making progress and improving their and said that the women who are aware should create awareness among the other women and also announced Rs 50000 for farmer Nunulal Besra for adopting poly house method of farming which he learned from Israel and Rs 21000 for Suchita Kumari who is into Mushroom farming. He said that keeping in mind the demand of the people boundary wall would be constructed across all the religious spots including Jaher Than. He demanded that a memorandum is given to him for a proposal of lift irrigation from the local river and said that within a week handpump would be constructed.

The Chief Minister said that by 2020 there would be no homeless in thr state and poor would be provided homes under PMAY. He ordered the DC to conduct a probe after people complained that they had to pay Rs 50 for electricity connection and said that corruption will not be tolerated at any cost and urged the people that in case anyone demands bribe they should call at 181 and action would be taken within 24 hours. He said that efforts are on to provide 24-hour power in the state by 2019. He said that so far 6 districts of the state have been electrified and soon work be completed in others. Over complaint in PDS, he warned the dealers that they would be sent to jail and asked them to carry on their responsibility with honesty. 

The Chief Minister also invited the farmers to participate in global agriculture summit on November 29 and 30. He said that delegates from 7 nations are coming to the event and farmers would get to know the latest technologies in agriculture. He said that it was important to promote agriculture in Santhal Pargana region and said that since the area was drought hit adequate help would be given to it.
