Monsoon once again becomes active over state

Ranchi: After laying low for the last few days monsoon has once again become active over Jharkhand as a result of which districts across the state are receiving light to medium range of rainfall.

The weather department had predicted for rains coupled with thundering in Ranchi, Latehar, Palamu, Gumla and few districts of the Santhal Pargana division on Thursday.  In the state capital, cloud cover remained throughout the day and in short spells, rainfall took place in the afternoon.

On Friday also in almost all the districts light to medium range of rainfall coupled with thundering has been predicted. Reports from Latehar and Dumka said that due to rainfall the water level in the rivers has gone up as a result of which many villages are facing the problem of waterlogging.

Over the last 24 hours, Monsoon has remained normal in the state with Kurdeg in Simdega receiving a maximum rainfall of 59.6 mm. The lowest temperature was recorded at Chaibasa at 23.2 degrees while the maximum was also recorded at Chaibasa at 33.4 degrees.
