Ranchi: The Election Commission has announced the dates of the by-polls to Kolibera by-polls of Jharkhand assembly for which voting will be held on December 20 and the counting of votes will be taken on December 23.
The by-polls for the seat was necessitated after a Simdega court awarded life imprisonment to Kolibera MLA and former minister Enos Ekka on July 3 I connection with the murder of a para teacher Manoj Kumar and subsequently Mr. Ekka lost the membership of the house. The Jharkhand Party has already announced that it will field Menan Ekka who is the wife of Enos Ekka as the party candidate for the by-polls to the seat. All other parties are still come out in open over their prospective candidates for the by-polls.
