Chatra (RP Service): In an initiative which was aimed at controlling the opium trade in the area a meeting was held at the Vashisthnagar Jori Police station between the senior police officials and the members of the panchayats.
Chatra SDPO Varun Devgam said that in all the far-flung pockets of the district campaign is on against the illegal opium trade and people of the villages are being made aware. Moreover the police was also making the people understand the harmful effects of opium. He also asked the mukhiyas, ward members and the intellectuals of the villages to extend their active cooperation so that this illegal trade can be
removed from the district.
