Two including Zilla Parishad member arrested for murder in Palamu

Daltonganj (By our correspondent): Police has arrested two accused including a member of the Zilla Parishad in connection with the murder of a DRDA employee who was shot dead on October 26.

Addressing the press at Town Police Station here Palamu SP Inderjeet Mahtha said that the arrested have been identified as Shailendra Kumar Shailu, Zilla Parishad member from Chainpur and shooter Jitendra Singh while a third accused was absconding. A country-made pistol and a live cartridge have been also recovered from them. 

He said that deceased DRDA employee Sudhir Kumar Roshan had a dispute with the father-in-law of Zilla Parishad member as both were neighbours who lived on Navketan Cinema Road under Daltonagnj Town Police Station area. On the day of the incident, Shailendra along with the shooter Jitendra shot dead Sudhir while he was returning after dropping his children at the school and fled from the spot. The SP said that later a police team led by DSP Premnath was formed which first
managed to arrest the shooter Jitendra who later led to the arrest of the main conspirator.
