Maoists set JCB machine and other vehicles involved in road construction project in Gumla

Gumla: The ultras of the CPI Maoists set on fire a JCB machine and few other vehicles and equipments involved in a road construction project on the bordering areas of Palkot and Saursang Police Station area of this district.

Police said that an armed squad of the maoists set on fire a JCB, a water tanker, a roller, a grinder machine and a tractor on fire at Louvkhaman Toli. It is being suspected that the incident was executed by maoist squad led by Khudi Munda and Bhudheshwar.

A 6 kilometer long road from Dhangari Lunka school to Goindhara Basti is being constructed in the area. The work was closed due to lockdown and had commenced just few days ago.

Police said that a group of ultras reached on spot and after warning the workers not to commence work without their permission poured kerosene and diesel on the vehicles and set them on fire. Due to fear the villagers did not even inform the police.

On Monday morning sources alerted the nearest police station after which policemen from couple of other police stations alongwith CRPF and SAP jawans reached on the spot and inquired into the incident.
