Ranchi (RP Service): A woman lost her life following electrocution at Harwadih village under Silli Police Station area of this district. The woman was later identified as Somvari Devi (55).
Post the incident the family members created an uproar demanding compensation and also blocked traffic on the Silli-Purlia road. However, later the agitation was called off after a compensation of Rs 2 lakh was ensured while Rs 8,000 were given as immediate relief. Police said that the woman came into contact with 11,000 high voltage wire due to which she died on the spot.
