Koderma (RP Service): A speeding truck hit a motorcycle near Paharpur village on the Koderma-Giridih main road under Nawalshahi Police Station area of this district in which a student was killed while two others were critically wounded. The deceased has been identified as Md Abid Ansari (18) of Paharpur village while the injured are Md Mustaq and Md Mukhtar.
The trio had left their homes on a motorcycle for their tuition classes in Phulwariya when in the middle of the road Abid stopped his vehicle. A truck which was coming from behind failed to apply brakes in time and hit the trio. The people present ran after the truck after which the driver fled from the spot leaving his vehicle behind. The villagers later pelted stones on the truck and broke its windows. Later the vehicle was seized and the body of the boy was sent for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital.
