Thoughts of Bhagwan Birsa Munda have taken back stage as years went on: Sudesh

Ranchi (By our correspondent): AJSU party supremo and former deputy chief minister Sudesh Kumar Mahto said that as the years went by the thoughts of Dharti Abba Bhagwan Birsa Munda and the very own people of Jharkhand were left behind. After offering tributes at the ‘samadhi’ of Bhagwan Birsa Munda at Kokar here he said that one is often left to ponder whether the goals for which Birsa Munda had staged the ‘ulgulan’ have been really realized on the ground or not.

He said that it is true that geographically, administratively, language and culture wise it has been 18 years since the state was formed but the people of their villages and their thoughts have yet not been established. He said that there was a need to have a big debate over what were the goals behind establishing a separate state of Jharkhand in which all should participate and said that the parameters of others states and nations can not be used in Jharkhand as the people needed to themselves ponder as to where the dreams of Bhagwan Birsa Munda have been realized on the ground. 

Mr Mahto said that in the race for infrastructure and industrial development Jharkhand diverted from its original thought and there was a need to give a clear direction to the state for which the people of the villages needed to be brought upwards in the system. He used the occasion that despite taking pledge every year on occasion of Birsa Jayanti to make Jharlkhand as per his dreams the pledge and dreams are still unfulfilled.
