Ranchi (By our correspondent): Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that while on one hand, the state government was spending crores of rupee on organizing cultural programme on the occasion of state formation while there are several homes in the state where people would be forced to sleep without food.

In a press statement issued here which he has addressed to the people of Jharkhand, Mr Soren said that the celebrations show two faces of Jharkhand one which is of corporate and riches who would be at attendance at the Morhabadi Grounds the other would be workers, farmers, poor and unemployed youth.

He said that a large area of Jharkhand is grappling with drought as only 40 percent sowing of paddy has taken place in the state and the farmers are in deep distress while not a single rupee of help has reached to them, on the other hand, the entire administration under the leadership of their ‘insensitive’ Chief Minister will be enjoying the cultural programmes in which crores of rupees have been spent. Mr Soren said that he had no objections with the Chief Minister celebrating as it was a big day for the state and even he too was
invited for the celebrations. However, the manner in which the state is grappling with drought his inner soul does not permit him to indulge in merrymaking and he even too does not have the moral courage to participate in such programmes.
