Ranchi (By our correspondent): The state government said that it was working to fulfil all the promises which were inked following an agreement between the government and para-teachers on 26/8/2015. The government said that following an agreement a committee was formed which decided that the welfare fund of the para teachers would be formed worth Rs 10 crore against the demand of Rs 5
crore. It has been also agreed to increase the validity of the TET pass certificate from 5 years to seven years.

The government has also decided to increase the honorarium of the para teachers by 20 percent following para teachers will get an honorarium of Rs 12000 per month while those in primary schools would get Rs 11000. On the other hand, the woman para teachers will get maternity leave similar to that of the government school women teachers. The government said that as per the previous agreement inked between the two sides it has been already agreed that on satisfactory performance the services of the para teachers would be taken till 60 years whereas in case of filling up of permanent teachers posts in 50 percent seats in primary schools the para teachers are being hired as per the requirements.

The government said that during a talk with the delegation of the para teachers it was clearly informed about the steps which are being taken for them and despite ensuring fulfilment of all promises as per the agreement of August 26 2018 the para teachers are not cooperating. The state government has urged the para-teachers to extend their positive cooperation so that all their demands can be realised and urged them to be in their school and continue with the educational activities.
