Jharkhand turns 18: Govt to roll out plethora of schemes, declare state ODF & many more

Ranchi (By our correspondent): As the state of Jharkhand turns 18 on Thursday the government has decided to launch a number of schemes and projects worth Rs 1000 crore as part of the celebrations while the occasion would also be used to declare the state
ODF while the districts of Deoghar, Hazaribagh and Lohardaga will be announced as completely electrified and distribution of appointment letters among the teachers of plus two schools will also take place

The function will be held at the Morhabadi Grounds in the afternoon in which Governor Draupadi Murmu will be the Chief Guest prior to which Ms Murmu and Chief Minister Raghubar Das will reach the Kokar to offer tributes at the ‘Samadhi’ of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and will later Birsa Chowk to garland his statue. The government will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for the buildings of various departments including that of Health, Agriculture, Welfare, Higher and Technical Education which are being constructed by the Jharkhand State Building Construction Corporation Ltd while foundation would also be laid for poultry farm and cold storage in Gumla, colleges in Pakur, Dumka, Latehar and Simdega.

Foundation for drinking water supply scheme in Chas, solid waste management schemes in Pakur and Sahibganj will also be laid during the function. Later in the evening, a cultural programme would be held in where apart from the local artisans of the state renowned singers Suresh Wadekar and Kavita Krishnamurthy will be enthralling the audiences with their soulful voices. In the function, a coffee table book on making the state ODF will also be launched. As part of the celebrations, the various important buildings of the state capital and the important roads have been also beautifully decorated and so has been the Morabadi grounds where the main function will be held.

The entire stretch leading from Birsa Chowk to the Morhabadi grounds has been decorated with lights and luminaries while other buildings including the Raj Bhawan, Vidhan Sabha, Project Building, Nepal House etc have also been decked with lights and other fancy modes of decoration.

On the other hand, the state government has warned that para-teachers and other organisations not to indulge in any kind of nuisance including demonstrations and agitation on the occasion of state formation day on November 15 following which they would be relieved from their jobs. The government has said that since the state foundation day is a matter of pride for the people and its residents therefore on that day any kind of indiscipline will not be tolerated. “If anyone tries to create a disturbance on that day than it would be considered as disrespect towards the state and such people would be identified and disciplinary action would be taken and on the very next day they would be removed from their jobs,” an official release issued by the government said.
