Fight against Coronavirus: Lock down declared in Jharkhand till March 31

Ranchi: In wake of the scare possessed by Coronavirus and to minimize its impact among the people the Jharkhand government has declared a lockdown in the state till March 31.

A decision in this regard was taken in a high-level meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren at his residence here.

Those who were also present in the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary Home Sukhdeo Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Food and Civil Supplies Arun Kumar Singh, DGP MV Rao, Principal Secretary Health Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Principal Secretaries of Labour and Transport Department and Ranchi DC and SSP.

As per the order issued by the government apart from emergency services all government offices to remain closed and all officials will dispense their work from home but they will be not allowed to leave the headquarters so that if needed they can be called to headquarters.

A complete ban on all means of public transport, emergency services and medical services have been kept out of its ambit. All shops business establishments, offices, factories, godowns, weekly markets closed.

Further, the government has also ordered to stop all kinds of construction work and all religious spots in the state have been closed for devotees.

The government has asked the people who have returned from abroad to strictly follow the period of quarantine and the people have been asked to remain in their homes and they should go out only to fulfill basic needs.
