Chakrdharpur: An encounter took place between the security personnel comprising the jawans of the CRPF and district police
with the ultras of the PLFI in Podahaat forest located under Gudri Police Station area of the West Singhbhum district. Chaibasa SP Kranti Kumar said that police had received a secret tip off that in the area PLFi squad led by Santosh Kandulna and Boyeda Pahan were camping who were planning to execute some big incident in the area. These ultras were also supposed to participate in a
cultural programme located on the foothills of the jungle.
Post the information a company of the CRPF’s 94th battalion and the police team from Manoharpur police station reached the area and in the early morning as they were conducting search operations the ultras
opened indiscriminate firing to which the security forces retaliated after which they fled into deeper reaches of forest leaving their guns
behind. He said that no casualty was reported from any side in the incident.
