Chatra: In a road accident which took place under Piparwar Police Station area of this district two youth were killed by a speeding truck. Police sources said that the youth Rohit Munda and Pradeep Munda of Kichto village were going to market on a motorcycle to buy goods for the Chhath festival when near the Chiraiytand Kali Temple their vehicle was hit by a speeding truck coming from the opposite end. Such was the impact of the accident that the duo died on the spot.
Post the incident the truck driver managed to flee from the spot leaving his vehicle behind. Miffed over the incident the locals blocked traffic movement on the Piparwar- Kichto road demanding compensation for the kin of the victim but later they called off their agitation following the intervention of the local administration.
